Redesigned websites debut
This new site explaining United Methodist connectional giving debuted in June. A section for church leaders and pastors offers tools and downloadable resources to help inspire giving within local churches. The section for church members focuses on the scriptural reasons for giving and highlights unique opportunities, such as Special Sundays. Feature stories and videos tell how the generosity of United Methodists positively affects lives. Opportunities to give safely, securely and easily are available across the site.
Spiritual seekers can Rethink Church more easily through this newly redesigned website. It leads visitors through the concept of rethinking church and helps them to find opportunities to get involved both virtually and in real life. Short stories, photo galleries and videos demonstrate what it means to Rethink Church through eight focus areas: basic needs, creation care, education, humanitarian relief, malaria, spirituality, vocation and workers’ rights. RethinkChurch.org also shows how the people of The United Methodist Church are active, offer hope and are a tangible presence of Christ in the world.
New sections of www.UMC.org went live in early May as portals for Spanish- and Korean-language ministries and resources. Designed by United Methodist Communications, both portals will aggregate language-specific resources from around the denomination and provide original content.
